We’d like to thank everyone who came out to the Regional Special Needs Expo last weekend. From the seminars to the fashion show and singing, to the many agencies represented, what an amazing time it was! We were delighted to be a part of the Task Force that hosted this event. Many thanks to the other members of the Task Force- The Special Needs Sports Foundation, Project 22, Mary’s Magical Place, and Hendersonville Parks and Recreation. Thanks also to First Baptist Church Hendersonville for their generosity in hosting this event.
We enjoyed the opportunity to meet so many of you! We met individuals with special needs, parents and caregivers, and teachers and other professionals in the field. One thing that really made an impression was how many of you mentioned how important and yet complicated it can be to find information about rights and resources.
We agree! In fact, that was the main reason why we were founded: to make information accessible and available to all who need it. It’s why we work hard to keep our local resource directory updated, to have informational events for the public, and to reach out to the special needs, disability, and neurodivergent communities. We think information should be freely given so that people can make their best-informed decisions.
